mercedes jumping mode Page 434

“Jumping mode” is Mercedes’ party trick on certain GLE and GLS models fitted with E‑ACTIVE BODY CONTROL: the suspension rhythmically lifts the car to help it wriggle free from sand or mud.

Activated via the Off‑Road menu, it pulses each wheel individually using a 48‑volt hydraulic system, building momentum like a kid on a pogo stick—only with leather seats.

It works at very low speeds and times out after short bursts, because your neighbours (and the dampers) deserve mercy.

It’s not on every Mercedes; you need the optional active suspension package, and some markets disable it on‑road for obvious reasons.

Handy for beach exits, not for impressing the cafe crowd; save that for parking straight.
