mg car reviews 2023

In 2023, MG’s Aussie lineup was all about value first, excitement second—think MG3, ZS/ZST, HS/HS PHEV, and the ZS EV covering cheap-and-cheerful to bargain EV. The good bits: sharp drive-away pricing, a long 7-year warranty, straightforward tech, and servicing that won’t demand a second mortgage. The less thrilling: average ride and handling, cabin plastics that creak if you look at them funny, and base variants with safety kit that felt a tad last decade (the MG3 notably lacked AEB). ZS EV stays one of the most affordable electric options for suburbia, while the HS PHEV is feature-stuffed but hardly the last word in finesse. If you want cheap, simple commuting with a warranty that outlives several houseplants, MG hits the brief. If you crave dynamic sparkle, rivals in the small hatch and SUV crowd bring more fizz.
