Ah, Monopoly for kids – the gateway drug to capitalist ruthlessness, but with less bloodshed and more pastel colours. Versions like Monopoly Junior simplify the rules and use kid-friendly tokens to introduce the concept of property trading and money management. Expect shorter playtimes, simplified property sets, and easier-to-understand money. It's designed to teach the little tycoons the basics of economics without the existential dread of bankruptcy looming too large.
Available new for around AUD 20–40, and you might find used copies lurking on Tradingpost or CarShowroom for a cheeky discount. Perfect for ages 5 and up, but don’t be surprised if the kids bankrupt their parents within minutes.
