more wheels or doors Page 3419

The internet’s favourite pub debate: are there more wheels or doors in the world? There’s no official census—shockingly, no one’s knocking on houses counting hinges or rummaging through toy boxes tallying Hot Wheels—so the answer is unknowable and gloriously arguable. Cars bring four wheels and anywhere from two to five doors, but then you remember office chairs, suitcases, prams and conveyor rollers turning the tide for Team Wheel. Buildings fight back with cupboards, wardrobes, and apartment blocks sprouting doors like a hedgehog sprouts spikes. It all hinges (sorry) on definitions: do boot lids count as doors, do gears count as wheels, and are we including every toy ever made? Verdict: pick a side, bring snacks, and enjoy the endless stalemate.
