After the success of its introduction in 1961, the following Moto Guzzi introduced the ‘Sport’ version, which benefitted from many upgraded such as new cylinder head with revised valve angles in a hemispherical combustion chamber, centrifugal oil filter, higher compression (8.5:1) and a larger 20mm Dell’Orto carb. Power was increased to 8.5hp at 7,500rpm. Equipped with clip-on handlebars, racing seat and alloy rims, the Sport was good for a claimed 70mph!
