mycar service review Page 44

mycar (formerly Kmart Tyre & Auto) is a national chain that does the usual hits: logbook servicing, tyres, brakes, batteries and the odd rego check.

The experience depends on the specific store—processes are standardised, but humans turn the spanners, and humans vary almost as much as hatchback boot sizes.

Value typically sits between dealership polish and indie-mechanic thrift, so get an itemised quote and ask that parts and fluids meet the manufacturer’s specs.

Servicing outside the dealer won’t void a new-car warranty in Australia if the schedule is followed and appropriate parts/fluids are used, so keep that logbook stamped.

Check reviews for your local branch, compare a couple of quotes, and judge them on clear communication, before-and-after reports, and whether they call before adding work.
