The Neo Mastiff is a modern twist on the ancient Mastiff breed, bred primarily in Australia to be a robust guard dog with a calm temperament. They typically weigh between 54 to 68 kg and stand around 70 to 80 cm tall at the shoulder. Their coat is short, dense, and usually brindle, fawn, or black in colour. The breed is known for its loyalty and protective nature, making it a popular choice for experienced dog owners. Expect to pay anywhere from $2,000 to $3,500 AUD for a puppy, with used or older dogs sometimes available on PuppyList or Tradingpost at lower prices. Common issues include hip dysplasia and bloat, so regular vet checks are a must.
For detailed breed standards, consult official Neo Mastiff clubs or veterinary sources.
