new car waiting times Page 5

New car waiting times in Australia range from “drive away today” to several months, depending on brand, spec, and how popular your chosen colour happens to be this week. Mainstream models with common options can be available in 0–3 months, while hot-selling trims, hybrids and EVs often take 3–9 months; niche or bespoke orders can stretch to 6–12+ months. Stock allocation, shipping schedules, and compliance can add a final sting right when you’ve already named the car on Instagram. To shorten the wait, ring multiple dealers (including regional), ask for in-transit stock, stay flexible on colour/options, and consider demos or near‑new used. It’s not glamorous, but it works—like thongs at a wedding.
