new p plate restrictions nsw Page 2

Ah, the joys of being a new driver in NSW—welcome to the land of restrictions! If you’re on your P plates, you better strap in for some rules. For P1 drivers, you must display red P plates, can't drive above 90 km/h, and are prohibited from towing. Oh, and forget about using your phone unless it's hands-free—yes, that includes Bluetooth. For P2 drivers, with green P plates, the speed limit bumps up to 100 km/h, and some restrictions relax, but distractions and alcohol limits stay as tight as a drum.

Keep in mind, you must hold your P plates for at least 12 months before graduating to full licensure. For all the nitty-gritty, check the NSW Roads and Maritime Services or have a squiz on Tradingpost or CarShowroom for vehicles that suit your novice needs.
