new speed cameras victoria Page 19

Victoria is fond of its speed cameras, especially the new breed that seems to pop up faster than a kangaroo on a trampoline. These latest speed cameras boast multi-lane detection, allowing them to catch speedsters in several lanes simultaneously, and often include average speed detection over set distances. New units are typically fixed and mobile, with some covertly installed in unmarked vehicles to surprise those who think they’re clever. Fines in Victoria can range from around $200 to $400, depending on how much you're pushing the limits, with demerit points slapped on as well. For the latest locations and updates, check resources like ServiceCentral or Tradingpost, but remember, the best way to avoid a fine is to drive within the limits—no one wants to fund the government’s coffee habit.
