nissan dualis 2014 problems

The 2014 Nissan Dualis (precursor to the Qashqai) can be a faithful servant, but it’s not entirely halo-and-harp music.

• CVT issues: shuddering, flare, or overheating on climbs; demand a long test drive and evidence of regular fluid changes.
• Airbag recalls (Takata): many cars of this era were affected—check the VIN and sort it promptly.
• Diesel DPF clogging (diesel variants): short-trip use can soot it up; watch for warning lights or forced-regeneration history.
• Age-related suspension wear: tired bushes or strut mounts causing clunks and woolly steering—routine, but not free.

As ever, a thorough pre-purchase inspection and a fat service history beat buying someone else’s deferred-maintenance project.
