nsw international driver license Page 593

Visiting NSW with an overseas licence? No drama—drive on your current licence, but carry it on you; if it isn’t in English, bring an official translation or an International Driving Permit.

Same road rules, same fines, same speed cameras with an enthusiasm for revenue that borders on artistic.

If you become a NSW resident, you’ll need to switch to a NSW licence within the required period and pass any checks that apply—rules change, so confirm with the authorities before you rock up.

Keep your passport/visa handy, and make sure the name and licence classes match, or your road trip turns into paperwork theatre.
