Doing an NT vehicle registration check is gloriously simple—no crystal ball required.
Use the NT Government’s Motor Vehicle Registry rego check, enter the plate (or VIN/chassis), and you’ll see status, expiry date, make/model, and other basics, free of charge.
Before handing over cash, also run a PPSR check (a small AUD fee) to confirm there’s no finance owing or write-off history—because surprise debt collectors are a terrible optional extra.
Buying via Tradingpost? Do both checks, match the VIN on the vehicle and the paperwork, and walk away if anything smells off; cars should have exhaust fumes, not red flags.
