Bird droppings are nature’s paint stripper with wings—act like a pro detailer, not a vengeful scrubber. Soften first: lay a warm, soapy microfibre (pH-neutral car shampoo) on the spot for 5–10 minutes, then lift off gently—no grinding it in like you’re polishing a bowling ball. Follow with a dedicated bird-dropping or bug/tar remover that’s safe for clear coats, then rinse and dry.
If you’re left with etching, use a light polish or finishing compound by hand on a small pad, check your progress obsessively, and stop before you burn through the clear. Seal the area with wax or a sealant to add a bit of armour, and if the mark’s bitten right through the clear, it’s body shop time—sorry, mate, not all battles can be won in the driveway.
