Online roadworthy sounds lovely, but in Australia the inspection itself must be done in the real world by a licensed tester who actually sees the vehicle.
You can book and receive the certificate digitally (QLD Safety Certificate, VIC RWC, NSW eSafety/pink slip), but the car still gets a physical once-over.
Expect checks of brakes, tyres, lights, leaks, steering, structure, windscreens and seatbelts, and budget roughly $60–$200 depending on state and vehicle type.
Mobile services can come to you; anyone offering a certificate without a proper inspection is waving a very large, very red flag.
