Enter the plate (or sometimes VIN) to see if the rego is current, the expiry date, and often the CTP status. It’s free and takes about a minute—faster than finding your wallet.
Buying? Run a PPSR check too for finance owing, write-off and stolen status (small fee, big peace of mind). Make sure the VIN/plate in the ad matches the car, and screenshot results before paying. If anything smells fishier than a Friday arvo market, walk away.
