The P1 licence in Queensland, also known as the provisional licence, is a step up from your learner's permit. You must be at least 17 years old and have held your learner licence for at least 6 months before applying. P1 drivers face restrictions like a 90 km/h speed limit and a strict zero blood alcohol limit. You’re also limited to carrying only one passenger under 21 between 11 pm and 5 am unless supervised. The P1 phase lasts for 12 months before you can progress to P2.
