In Victoria, the humble P plate isn't just a fashion statement; it's a three-tier system of motoring probation. You start with red P plates for your first year of probation, then graduate to green P plates for the next three years, assuming you don’t crash and burn. The red ones scream 'novice,' while green says 'slightly less novice but still under watch.' These plates must be displayed front and rear when driving, lest you want a chat with the law.
