p plates queensland Page 518

Queensland P-plates come in stages—P1 (red) then P2 (green)—and both require a zero BAC, because "just one" is not a driving strategy.

P1 drivers under 25 can carry only one passenger under 21 between 11pm and 5am; P2 eases up on that, but still keep the heroics for Forza.

High-powered vehicle restrictions apply to P1 and P2 drivers under 25 unless you’ve got an exemption, so check before you borrow Uncle Dave’s V8.

P1: no mobile use at all (not even hands‑free); P2: hands‑free is allowed—eyes and brain still required.

Display your plates front and rear, mind the 4 demerit point limit, and expect suspension or a good‑behaviour period if you blow it.

No special P‑plate speed cap here—just the posted limit and a healthy fear of double demerits on long weekends.
