Booking the P-plate test in Victoria is a two-step tango: pass the Hazard Perception Test, then tackle the VicRoads on-road Drive Test.

You'll need a valid learner permit, proof of identity, and (if applicable) your completed supervised driving logbook; age-based hour requirements apply.

Book and pay online or via VicRoads, bring a roadworthy, insured car with L plates or use an instructor’s—plus a licensed accompanying driver to and from the centre.

On test day they’ll check your controls, road rules, observation, and safe gap selection; no need to channel a race driver, just be predictably boring.

If you have an overseas licence, different rules may apply, so check the official VicRoads guidance for your situation.
