Passenger drones are the flying cars we were promised but still haven't quite nailed down. These electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) vehicles aim to whisk you over traffic jams like a boss. Typical specs include a range of about 50-150 km, cruising speeds near 100-150 km/h, and seating for 1-4 people. New models can set you back hundreds of thousands to over a million AUD, while used ones are rare and pricey. Key challenges remain: battery tech, safety regulations, and actual availability (looking at you, Jetsons).
For those brave enough, keep an eye on emerging listings in CarShowroom or the odd tech auction. But for now, your best bet is to keep dreaming and avoid the traffic.
