perth to ktm Page 7

Ah, the epic journey from Perth to KTM—assuming KTM means Kathmandu, Nepal, because otherwise we’re in a twilight zone of acronyms. If you’re thinking about how to get from the dusty streets of Perth to the chaotic charm of Kathmandu, brace yourself. By air, it’s roughly a 10,000-kilometre marathon involving at least one or two stops, typically via Sydney or Melbourne, and then a long-haul leg through Asia, like Singapore or Kuala Lumpur.

Flights can set you back anywhere between $900 to $1,500 AUD return, depending on how much you fancy squeezing into economy or splurging on a bit of legroom. No direct flights, so expect layovers and a fair bit of waiting around.

If your idea of fun is driving, good luck—there’s oceans in the way, so that’s a no-go. Best to book through airlines listed on CarShowroom or travel sites, and prepare for culture shock and altitude sickness in Kathmandu.
