Birds for Sale from private sellers

Find birds for sale from private sellers on Tradingpost.

Bird listings here run from budgies, cockatiels, finches and canaries through to conures, ringnecks, Indian ringnecks and larger parrots, along with breeding pairs, aviary birds and the occasional whole flight of young birds. Ask the seller whether a bird is aviary raised or hand raised, how old it is, what it is being fed, whether it has been sexed and whether it wears a closed leg ring.

Arrange to see the bird where it currently lives before you agree to anything. A young bird settled in a clean flight, still with its parents or its clutch mates, tells you far more than any photograph. Ask for the breeder's details, the hatch date and any health or identification records the seller holds. Some species need a licence or a permit to keep, and moving certain birds between states can carry its own rules, so check what applies to you and to the bird you are looking at before you travel or book transport.

Whoever you are dealing with, ask the same questions: where the animal came from, how it has been kept, and what records come with it. Clear the seller filter to see everyone listing right now.

Also worth a look: cages, aviaries and bird food, fish, rabbits, reptiles and other pets, or the wider pets and horses section.

Browse birds by state: New South Wales, Victoria and Queensland.
