In Australia we drink in litres, but the word “pint” still gate-crashes the party.
For most of Australia, a pint is roughly 570 mL — basically the old UK/imperial pint of 568 mL — so call it 0.57 L.
In South Australia, beware: a “pint” can mean 425 mL, while “imperial pint” is the full 570 mL.
If someone quotes a US pint, that’s only 473 mL (0.473 L), which feels a bit short-changed.
So for Aussie pubs, assume about half a litre plus a generous splash; for conversions, use 1 pint ≈ 0.57 L unless told otherwise.
