pirelli tyre test silverstone Page 328

Pirelli’s tyre test at Silverstone is where F1 teams pound around with prototype compounds and constructions while everyone pretends lap times don’t matter.

It’s a controlled programme: Pirelli calls the shots, teams run set plans, and the data goes to Milan—not your social feed.

Don’t expect tyre blanket drama or magic upgrades; it’s validation work to shape next-season rubber and confirm heat cycles, degradation and carcass strength.

In short, it looks like a Grand Prix shakedown, but it’s really homework—heavy, necessary, and weirdly secretive, because balance and correlation trump headlines.
