polestar 2 vs model y Page 28

Choosing between the Polestar 2 and Tesla Model Y? Both do electrons better than a tradie does coffee, but they go about it differently.

• Polestar 2 — Pros: Upscale Scandinavian cabin finish, composed handling, slick Google-based infotainment, strong safety credentials
• Polestar 2 — Cons: Tighter rear headroom and boot opening, highway efficiency trails Tesla, relies on third‑party charging networks, options can balloon price
• Tesla Model Y — Pros: Class-leading efficiency and real‑world range, huge cabin and boot, easy Supercharger access, brisk performance and frequent OTA updates
• Tesla Model Y — Cons: Firm ride with some road noise, minimalist interior isn’t for everyone, build consistency can vary, insurance often pricier

In Australia, expect new Polestar 2 at roughly AUD $65k–$85k plus on-roads, and new Model Y at about AUD $56k–$88k drive-away depending on spec; used examples commonly sit around AUD $38k–$60k (Polestar 2) and AUD $42k–$70k (Model Y).

Both are easy daily drivers; take a long test run, try your local chargers, and see which one suits your backside and budget.
