portable speed cameras nsw Page 3

In NSW, “portable speed cameras” are mobile units used by NSW Police and contractors to enforce posted limits anywhere from suburban streets to highways.

They operate day or night, in all weather, and in school zones when applicable; fines and demerit points apply if you’re over the limit.

They may be accompanied by warning signs under current NSW rules (which can change), and their locations rotate frequently—so chasing a list is like chasing a magpie in spring.

The only reliable defence is simple: stick to the limit, watch school zone times, and keep an eye on variable speed signage.
