prado engine replacement cost Page 901

Replacing a Toyota LandCruiser Prado engine isn’t a tea-and-bikkies expense—budget serious dollars.

For a used wrecker motor, expect about AUD 3,500–7,000, plus AUD 1,500–3,500 for fitting and fluids.

A reconditioned/long motor typically runs AUD 7,500–12,000, with drive-in/drive-out bills often landing around AUD 10,000–16,000.

A brand-new crate engine can be AUD 15,000–22,000 before labour, and yes, your wallet just winced.

Ancillaries like injectors, turbo, water pump, clutch/torque converter, and cooling bits can add another AUD 1,000–5,000 if they’re tired.

Get itemised quotes using your VIN (1KD 3.0 or 1GD 2.8) and compare warranties—labour coverage matters almost as much as the engine itself.
