prado v6 performance upgrade Page 252

Chasing more grunt from your Prado V6? Start with the basics: a quality panel filter and a freer-flowing cat-back exhaust, then a proper ECU tune to sharpen throttle and add a handy slab of torque.

If you want real shove, long-tube headers and high-flow cats help, and yes, there are supercharger kits that turn the sensible family bus into a bit of a giggler.

Budget roughly AUD 1.5–3k for intake/exhaust/tune, 3–6k with headers, and 10k+ if you’re going blown; add upgraded brakes, cooling, and a transmission service if you tow heavy.

Run 98 RON, keep servicing tight, and remember tunes or forced induction can affect warranty and insurance.

Stick to reputable brands and dyno tuners who know Toyotas, and get it engineered if your state requires it.

It won’t become a track weapon, but it’ll climb hills like it’s discovered espresso.
