price of electric Page 5

Ah, the price of electric vehicles—a topic that could make your wallet weep or sing. New electric cars in Australia generally start around $45,000 AUD for entry-level models like the MG ZS EV or Nissan Leaf, and can skyrocket past $150,000 AUD for luxury beasts such as the Tesla Model S or Porsche Taycan. Used EVs offer a more wallet-friendly route, often found between $25,000 and $70,000 AUD depending on age, range, and condition—check places like Tradingpost or CarShowroom for some deals. Remember, subsidies and incentives vary by state, potentially sweetening the deal. Charging infrastructure costs and running expenses also factor into the total cost of ownership. Always do your homework before committing to a silent, emission-free chariot.
