proof of ownership car qld Page 173

In Queensland, proving ownership of a car typically involves the registration certificate issued by the Department of Transport and Main Roads. This document, often called the "rego papers," shows you're the registered operator, which is almost as good as legal ownership. Additionally, a receipt from the purchase or a signed transfer of ownership form can bolster your claim. For private sales, it's wise to get a receipt noting the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) and details of the seller and buyer.

Always keep these documents safe; losing them can make life a royal pain when selling or transferring the vehicle. For more info or if you need official proof, the department's website or services like ServiceCentral can help.
