Going from P's to a full licence in Australia is less a victory lap and more a patience test.

The gist: hold your P1 then P2 for the required periods in your state, keep a clean record (no suspensions, zero BAC, watch those demerits), and pass any required hazard-perception or exit test, then pay the fee and upgrade.

Exact rules and timeframes differ by state and age, so check your road authority (Service NSW, VicRoads, TMR QLD, DIT SA, DoT WA, etc.) before you start celebrating.

If you've had a suspension or good-behaviour period, expect hold times to extend, because the clock isn't terribly forgiving.
