Ah, Queensland P1 restrictions: the bane of any freshly minted driver’s existence. Under the P1 (Provisional 1) licence, you’re slapped with a 90 km/h speed limit, regardless of the posted road limit, and a zero blood alcohol concentration—yes, not a drop of vino for you. You must display red P plates front and rear, and only carry one passenger under 21, unless they’re immediate family. Mobile phone use is a no-go, even hands-free. These rules aim to keep the roads safe, and your insurance premiums marginally sane.
