In Queensland, a REVS check is now a PPSR search—same job, new name.

Grab the VIN (or chassis/rego), pay about $2, and you’ll get a certificate showing any finance owing, stolen status, and written-off history on the national WOVR.

It can also flag mismatched identifiers and give build/compliance details—useful when a “bargain” looks like it survived a wrestling match with a gum tree.

Do it before you hand over cash, especially for private sales or that too-good-to-be-true find on Tradingpost.

If it’s encumbered, walk away or get the lender to clear it in writing; your optimism won’t beat repossession.
