queensland ev subsidy Page 7

Queensland’s EV subsidy has been a thing, but it’s a moving target—so check the current rules before you start measuring the garage. Historically it’s applied to new battery-electric cars under a price cap with means-tested tiers, while plug-in hybrids usually don’t make the cut. You typically buy and register first, then apply with your invoice and rego details; reduced state stamp duty may also sweeten the deal. It often plays nicely with the federal FBT exemption on eligible novated leases, which is like getting a free side of chips with your schnitty. If the funding window’s shut, watch for reopening rounds or sharp deals on in-stock cars (Tradingpost is handy for sniffing those out). Bottom line: eligibility, caps and amounts change—read the fine print and confirm with official sources.
