In Queensland, the learner’s test is now mostly done via PrepL—an online, interactive road-rules course and assessment—or you can sit the traditional written test at a transport customer service centre.
You’ll need to be 16+, bring proper ID, pass an eyesight check and pay the fee; nail it and you’ll walk out with a Class C learner licence.
If you’re under 25 you must log 100 hours, including 10 at night, before the practical driving test; 25 or older, no compulsory hours, but practise like your bumper depends on it.
After at least six months on your Ls, pass the online Hazard Perception Test, then book the on-road test with the Department of Transport and Main Roads.
Study the latest QLD road rules, smash a few practice quizzes, and resist answering “Give way” to everything—tempting, yes, but the examiners do notice.
