queensland learner license Page 16

In Queensland, you can get a learner licence at 16 by completing PrepL (or the road rules test) and then applying for a class C learner. You must display L‑plates front and rear, have an open‑licence supervisor in the front passenger seat, and keep your BAC at 0.00. Log at least 100 hours of supervised driving, including 10 hours at night, and hold the learner for at least 12 months before the practical test. Pass the driving test and you step up to a provisional (P1) licence—no confetti cannon, but close enough. It’s all very sensible, unlike your mate’s handbrake turns in the cul‑de‑sac. For the nitty‑gritty or any exemptions, check the latest guidance from the Queensland Government.
