queensland red light camera Page 1205

In Queensland, a red light camera snaps you if your vehicle enters an intersection after the light has turned red—simple, merciless, and not negotiable.

Many units also measure speed on green and amber, so blasting through late won’t win you any prizes beyond an infringement notice to the registered owner.

You can check official camera locations via Queensland’s transport authorities, and if a notice arrives you can pay, nominate the actual driver, or contest it within the stated timeframe.

Accuracy is high thanks to induction loops and time-stamped images, but if you think the rego or signal phase is wrong, follow the review process listed on the notice.

Best defence: treat amber as “prepare to stop,” roll up to the line, and save your heroics for a racetrack.
