rab act nsw Page 33

The RAB Act (NSW) is the Residential Apartment Buildings (Compliance and Enforcement Powers) Act 2020—catchy, isn’t it?

It gives the NSW Building Commissioner real teeth: they can inspect sites, require testing, issue rectification and stop-work orders, and even block occupation certificates if serious defects are sniffed out.

Developers must also give advance notice of completion so the regulators can drop by before the ribbon-cutting and selfies.

In plain English: build it properly, or nobody moves in. For chapter-and-verse detail, check NSW Fair Trading or get proper legal advice.
