ram warlock review Page 7

The RAM 1500 Warlock is the DS-series ute that dresses like it’s off to a pub brawl: blacked-out trim, raised stance, and a burly 5.7‑litre Hemi V8 (around 291 kW/556 Nm) through an 8‑speed auto.

On-road it’s surprisingly civil, off-road it’s game enough, and on fuel it’s… thirsty—figure mid‑teens L/100km if you’ve a gentle right foot and the patience of a saint.

Towing is a headline act at up to 4.5 tonnes braked (with the proper hardware), and the cabin’s big, comfy, and very “America, mate”.

Downsides? The DS platform is older, the tech feels a step behind newer rivals, and the price tag isn’t shy once options and on-roads pile in.

If you want a tough-looking V8 ute that can lug, the Warlock delivers; if you want cutting-edge gadgets and dainty fuel bills, look elsewhere.
