rest stops between sydney and canberra Page 231

Heading from Sydney to Canberra and need a pit stop before you start talking to the sat‑nav? Try Pheasants Nest service centre early on, then Sutton Forest if the coffee panic sets in. Further down the Hume, Marulan North/South service centres sort fuel, food, and the obligatory hot chips. Swing by Goulburn’s Big Merino precinct for loos and snacks, then join the Federal Highway. On the run into Canberra there are rest areas near Collector and the Lake George lookouts—good for legs, bad for your willpower to take photos. It’s hard to go more than an hour without facilities, but check live maps and roadhouse hours if you’re travelling late.
