revs check report review Page 14

Wondering if a REVS check report is worth it? In Australia it’s now called the PPSR, and for about AUD $2 it tells you if a car is finance‑encumbered, stolen, written‑off, and basic registration/VIN details.

It’s the motoring equivalent of checking the pool for sharks before diving in—cheap, quick, and occasionally life‑saving for your wallet.

Third‑party sites resell the same data with nicer wrapping and add‑ons like instant VIN scanning, but you’ll pay extra for the bow.

If the PPSR says “finance owing,” walk away or get the seller to clear it; otherwise you’re volunteering to pay for their mistakes.

Do the check before money changes hands, print the report, and then browse places like Tradingpost with a smug, well‑earned grin.
