roadworthy act Page 12

The Roadworthy Act in Australia is the legal backbone ensuring your vehicle isn't a death trap on wheels. It mandates that vehicles meet minimum safety standards before being sold or registered. In essence, a roadworthy certificate confirms your car's brakes, tyres, lights, and more aren't about to fail spectacularly.

Think of it as a bureaucratic nudge to keep dodgy cars off the road—because no one wants to share the highway with a rust bucket that might fall apart mid-drive. For specifics, check your state’s transport authority and remember, a roadworthy certificate is often a prerequisite for selling or transferring vehicle ownership.
