sat phone cost Page 231

Satellite phones are the luxury items of communication—handy when you’re off the grid but pricey enough to make you think twice. New sat phones typically start around $800 AUD and can soar past $2000 AUD for rugged, feature-packed models. Used options might drop to as low as $400 AUD, but beware of outdated tech and hidden fees. Then there’s the ongoing joy of airtime: expect monthly plans from $30 to $150 AUD, depending on your call and data needs. If you’re shopping, keep an eye on Tradingpost and CarShowroom for deals, and ServiceCentral for service plans.
