sell home privately Page 2

Looking to sell your home without the traditional middlemen? Selling privately means skipping real estate agents, saving on hefty commissions, but also taking on the full circus of marketing, negotiating, and paperwork yourself.

You'll need to get a solid valuation, maybe hire a conveyancer, and prepare to handle inquiries from all sorts of buyers—some serious, others mere looky-loos.

Prices for private sales can vary wildly: a well-presented property might attract competitive offers, but without agent networks, your reach is limited.

Services like Tradingpost and CarShowroom might help advertise your place, but expect a bumpy ride unless you’re a natural-born salesperson.
