Clean it, photograph it in decent light, price it realistically, and then channel your inner bookkeeper.

In NSW, give the buyer a proper receipt (VIN, odometer, price, date, names) and the service history; a PPSR report and a recent eSafety check (“pink slip”) are nice confidence boosters, though not mandatory to sell.

After money clears, remove your e‑tag and personal data from infotainment, hand over the keys, and immediately lodge a Notice of Disposal with Service NSW so any fines stop following you home.

The buyer then handles the registration transfer within 14 days and pays stamp duty and transfer fees—your job is to not be stitched up in the meantime.

Favour instant bank transfer (OSKO in‑branch if needed) and beware proof‑of‑payment screenshots and heroic bank cheques.

If the rego’s expiring soon, a fresh pink slip sweetens the deal; if it’s unregistered, be upfront and price accordingly—no one likes surprises except magicians.
