selling a car privately sa Page 55

Selling privately in SA is refreshingly straightforward: no mandatory roadworthy certificate, just a car that’s genuinely roadworthy and not held together with zip‑ties. Clean it, take honest photos, and assemble the paperwork—photo ID, rego details, service history, and a proper receipt. When it sells, complete the Notice of Disposal via Service SA (online is quickest) and hand the buyer the transfer section so their future speeding fines aren’t your problem. Take secure payment (instant bank transfer/OSKO is ideal), verify cleared funds, and meet at a bank or police station if your gut says “hmm.” Remove e‑tags, wipe your personal data from the infotainment, and if it’s unregistered, don’t leave the plates behind—simple, tidy, done.
