Selling a car in Western Australia isn't just about slapping a 'For Sale' sign on your windscreen and hoping for the best. You need to ensure the vehicle has a current safety inspection (often called a 'pink slip'), gather all your paperwork, and notify the Department of Transport of the transfer. Prices vary wildly depending on make, model, and condition, so checking sites like Tradingpost and CarShowroom can give you a ballpark figure.

Remember, the buyer is responsible for transferring the registration, but you must lodge a transfer notice within 14 days to avoid any liability for the car. And no, just throwing the keys over the fence and hoping for the best won't cut it legally.
