Servicing electric cars is mostly about everything you don’t miss from petrol life—no oil changes, no spark plugs, no timing belts, and no exhausts to rust.

Expect periodic checks of the high‑voltage system, coolant for battery thermal management, brake fluid, cabin air filters, software updates, and lots of tyre rotations because torque is enthusiastic.

Regenerative braking means pads last longer, but tyres and alignment deserve attention, and you’ll want a workshop properly qualified for EVs—orange cables are not DIY.

Most brands set annual or 15,000–20,000 km inspections, with costs generally lower than equivalent ICE cars, though out‑of‑warranty battery or DC fast‑charge issues can sting.

Follow the manufacturer schedule and keep receipts; resale value loves a tidy paper trail almost as much as you love never paying for an oil change.
