shipping a car interstate Page 20

Shipping a car interstate in Australia is basically adult Tetris: pick a carrier, choose open or enclosed transport, and decide between depot-to-depot or door-to-door. For ballpark costs, think roughly $450–$900 for Sydney–Melbourne, $700–$1,400 for Brisbane–Adelaide, and $1,600–$3,200 for Brisbane–Perth, depending on size, running condition, and timing. Enclosed transport and non-runners add dollars, as do rural pickups that require a truck to go bush. Get a few quotes, confirm insurance cover (yours and theirs), and photograph the car like it’s auditioning for a glossy mag. Empty the boot and declare mods so no one has a surprise with ground clearance. Then sit back and let the logistics people do their oddly satisfying dance across thousands of kilometres.
